Springtime is the season for these blood thirsty vampires. The pink blossoms must have thrown him off his game.

Native azaleas are in the rhododendron family. Several wild azalea species are native to North Alabama. The pink tinged flowers are often called wild honeysuckle, are most common.

      Thanks Edith that the state bird of Alabama pictured. I don’t want to say that they are large but moments after the picture was taken the flower broke away from the tree. LOL
