Spring (a yesterday’s news story)

On the first day of March nature declared that it was Springtime in Birmingham. It seemed like everything woke up overnight and start blooming. Except for all the pollen, spring is wonderful time of the year.

Even though spring is less than two weeks old, I feel like I’m already running behind in posting these pictures. In the springtime everything changes so fast, if a photograph isn’t processed and posted quickly it becomes like a yesterday’s news story. So I thought that it might be a good idea to post some of these early spring pictures before fall came back around.

These are beautiful, especially those ferns. Really nice work Phillip.

Thanks Adam. I really like the ferns. They are planted at my in-laws’. They really look cool while uncurling in the spring.

Beautiful series Phillip. I had the same idea last night. It is amazing the change in color spring brings

Thanks Len. I took some Dogwood pictures at the same time and now they are really different. I thought that I would just hold them out and make a series of Dogwood blooms later.

Simply beautiful. These are great shots. The Periwinkle on my front wall is open today! I’m waiting for my fruit trees to blossom but they are nowhere near. Those shots of the Fern are wonderful studies in the magic of nature.

When I photographed these, there were only two. I noticed this past weekend that there were several new blooms. I agree, ferns are real interesting.

The ferns are cool. I love seeing them all curled up before they open.
