My Beautiful Balloon

As I mentioned in my last post, we attended the Alabama Jubilee over the Memorial Day weekend. These are a few of the images taken during the weekend.

I like using F22 while shooting into the sun to create the star burst effect. You might have also notice it in the bumper of one of the cars during the last post.

You’ll notice the tennis ball in the guy’s hand. What you don’t see is his dog to the camera’s left waiting anxiously for him to play with her. She was so funny. He finally had to take the toy away so that he could concentrate on the business at hand.

    1. Thanks. This was our second time to go to see the Jubilee. It is just amazing to see them light up at night. They call “Glowing”, which is a great term for it! How’s the new improved website coming? I’ve been getting anxious to visit it.

      1. One of these days I’m going to catch the air balloon shows in the area and ride in one too.

The new site is almost ready; fingers crossed that it will be next weekend. I’ll let you know when it happens. Thanks.

        1. I’ve yet to ride. The lines were too long.

I know that your excited about your new site. Fingers Crossed!

  1. Excellent images Phillip. Love the compositions and colors. I have always wanted to visit one of these shows but there isn’t any here in the northeast.

    1. Thanks Len. I’ve never thought about that. I wounder if there is a reason why they aren’t held up there. If you ever get the opportunity, they are amazing to watch.

  2. Excellent series of shots, Phillip. Fantastic work, man.

I really love the vivid colors and festive atmosphere you’ve captured here.

  3. Hot air balloons are always fun to shoot, and you really captured some eminent images here. They are all so beautiful, but my favourite is the one of the top of the blue and yellow balloon against the sky. I like the tight crop which shows me a different take on hot air balloons.
