Homeward Bound

Several weeks ago I stop at a train museum in Calera, Alabama.

While I processed these images I began thinking of someone boarding this train. Where were they going, or were they arriving? The song “Homeward Bound” written by Paul Simon, and recorded by Simon and Garfunkel in 1965, seemed to go along with the picture.

I’m sittin’ in the railway station
Got a ticket for my destination
On a tour of one night stands
My suitcase and guitar in hand
And every stop is neatly planned
For a poet and a one man band

Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound
Home, where my thought’s escaping
Home, where my music’s playing
Home, where my love lies waiting
Silently for me

  1. I love old trains and train museums, Phillip! Your processing here is very effective. The song’s a natural here, too.
